The delicate French Bean has an edible pod that is thinner, longer and more tender than other green bean varieties. Interestingly the French bean is related to many popular green bean varieties such as Blue Lake and Kentucky Wonder. They are also related to bean varieties grown for their seeds like black, kidney, navy, and pinto beans. Since the variety doubles as both a legume and vegetable, it can provide a singular source of nutrients offer by each of its relative beans that contribute to eye and heart health, as well as diabetes management.
Melissa’s organic bean program is grown with no chemical pesticides or fungicides and third party certified as being organically grown in accordance with the guidelines mandated by the USDA's Organic Foods Production Act of 2002.
