The Starkrimson pear stands out from the rest due to its vibrant and brilliant color. When ripened, the Starkrimson pear gives a tender bite with its pearly white flesh melting in your mouth. You will know when it becomes ripe as its deep crimson turns to a bright crimson red, while the skin turns thinner and more delicate. Another indication is the floral aroma and sweet juice that develops over time.

Once cut, pears discolor quickly. To prevent browning, dip in acidulated water (cold water with a little lemon or lime juice). Pears can be eaten with or without skin, raw or cooked. This fruit can be baked, poached, roasted or sautéed. Enjoy in salads, bowls of cereal, or on a charcuterie board for a nice pop of color and flavor!

Store fruit at room temperature for up to one week after purchase. Pears may be refrigerated to stop the ripening process.
